Colin Hicks is a lifelong contributor to the UK and international cultural scene. Disappeared by his father at the age of seven, he is naturally drawn to the invisible. As the lacunae in this place will indicate.
His available destiny sunk, he went on to create another from the flotsam. Assembling an odd assortment as he went, to remind him of where he had been and what he had learned. Sometimes people, places, pictures, objects, documents. At other times: feelings, friendships, opinion, direction. Witnesses that he had indeed passed that way, and maybe you are one of these.
Out of this apprenticeship emerged a modus operandi that became a pedagogy. In what may be his last decade he has set himself the task of curating a digital institute that will outlive him. Not out of arrogance but for sharing. The results from his life’s greatest Query: how does a person learn to see when continuity itself has been broken?
He lives in an ancient city, writing it all up. Assembling the archive, revealing the pathways, distilling the truths – now for you made discoverable.
